Pregnancy and Chiropractic: Week 14 with Erin
This month at BACC we are celebrating National Nutrition Month. There is no better time than now to talk about eating right while you are pregnant.
In my first trimester I had no appetite, and just now I'm slowly getting it back. If you have a limited appetite, first and foremost, make sure you are taking a prenatal vitamin. I take Nutri-Dyn Fem Prenatal. Stick to high quality fruits and vegetables. Eat lean meats such as eggs and chicken, and limit red meats. If meat turns you off substitute it with protein shakes, nuts, cheese and milk.
Don't worry about carbs. If they settle your stomach then its ok to eat them. I lived off Powerade, bagels, fruit and pasta during my first trimester. I substittuted meat for almonds, peanut butter and milk. Remember, its ok to have the same meal if it works for you.
