Pregnancy & Chiropractic: Week 20 with Erin

Over the last few weeks I have been having episodes of dizziness, and in some cases it feels like I may faint. Dizziness can be caused by increased blood flow, oxygen and sugar levels used by the baby. Dizziness can also be a side effect of the new hormones in your body. By getting adjusted it helps balance out your nervous system which controls how ...wide or thin your blood vessels are. The wider the blood vessels the more normalized blood flow and oxygen you will have to your brain. You should also make sure your blood sugar level doesn't drop by eating small meals throughout the day.

Dizziness and feeling faint can also be caused by the baby pushing against your vena cava vein, which could restrict blood flow throughout your body. We will talk more about this in my 3rd trimester.

If you are experiencing dizziness and/or fainting make sure you notify your OBGYN doctor as soon as possible. These are serious symptoms that should not be ignored.
