Pregnancy & Chiropractic: Week 29 with Erin

As you get further along in the 3rd trimester and closer to your due date you may start to feel Braxton Hicks contractions. Braxton Hicks contractions are known as "false" labor pains. With these contractions you may feel mild, rhythmic cramping. True labor contractions will increase in strength and will become more frequent.

Chiropractic adjustments can help relieve Braxton Hicks contractions. A chiropractor will first align your pelvis, and then they may use the Active Release Technique on the ligaments and psoas muscle to help relieve the pressure and cramping sensations.

If you are experiencing contractions that are getting stronger, closer together and/or longer make sure you call your OB doctor as you may be feeling actual labor contractions.
