Pregnancy & Chiropractic: Week 33 with Erin

As you get further along in the third trimester of pregnancy many women experience swelling of the ankles and feet. This swelling occurs because your body is retaining more fluid. When standing or sitting this retained fluid will flow to your feet causing pressure and swelling. Your diet can also increase this swelling, so make sure to watch your sodium intake.

A chiropractor can help alleviate this pressure and swelling by adjusting your ankles, knees, hips and pelvis. Also make sure you are not standing or sitting for long periods of time. Even if you are retaining fluids, remember its important to still drink plenty of water for you and your baby.
